We’re often approached by drivers who have been told they need to undergo Driver CPC Training but aren’t sure what it is, what it involves and whether or not they are required to take it. So, we’ve compiled some of the most common Driver CPC Training questions to help you better understand what it’s all about.

What Is Driver CPC Training?

Driver CPC Training is a Certificate of Professional Competence. It is a qualification that professional bus, coach and lorry drivers must take in order to legally drive their vehicle for work. The Driver CPC Training has been introduced throughout Europe and its aim is to improve the quality of driving on the roads, in turn making the roads safer.

Who Needs To Take Driver CPC Training?

If you obtained your lorry, bus or coach driving license before September 2009 then you need to take Driver CPC Training. Those who obtained their license after this date will have had their Driver CPC Training as part of their initial training course.

What Happens If You Do Not Take Driver CPC Training?

If you have been told you need to undergo a Driver CPC Training programme and do not, you will be unable to work in your chosen industry. Failing to complete a Driver CPC Training course when you need to will mean you are not legally allowed to drive the vehicle for work and fines can be given.

What Does Driver CPC Training Involve?

Driver CPC Training involves 35 hours of training, both theory and practical. These 35 hours are usually split into 5 modules, each 7 hours long. There are no exams to pass with this type of training and the certificate is given based on attendance only.

How Much Does Driver CPC Training Cost?

The cost of Driver CPC Training will vary depending on how many modules you book at once, though at Nottinghamshire Driving School we do provide affordable and competitive rates. For more information on how much Driver CPC Training in Nottingham costs, visit our booking page.
